Just a few views of the stacked Quads I listen to regularly. Although other speakers do live here, including another pair of Quads (originals) in the office, the stacked pair remains the listener's choice when only reality will do..

This shows my listening room almost as it is at the present time with large polyester bass traps in the corners and absorber panels behind the speakers. This creates an enormous sound stage which seems to recede forever, given a good source with good recorded perspective. The good 'ol bucket brigade mixing echo still sounds like what it is - artificial electronic studio noise.

This is a close up view of one of the latest (SQ3) stacked Quads with rigid Aluminium frame and 60 kg base pedestal. The audio transformers are clearly recognisable in the centre background, flanked by "mysterious" black cannisters holding the EHT supplies. The surface is finished in Envirotex resin

Overall view of one of the SQ3 stacks showing power supply housings and audio transformers beneath. The surround is polished Aluminium, and as you can make out, the grille cloth is almost "not there". Rigidity, and transmission of spurious vibrations to the heavy base is the key feature in this build.
